With the fantastic news about the now-eagerly-anticipated Lego Dimensions, it’s been a great week for video-game-loving Lego fans.
Sadly there’s also some bad news if you happen to be a fan of Lego’s free-to-play MMORPG Legends of Chima Online: in approximately six weeks time, the game will be shutting its doors for good.
Check out the official announcement below:
“We are sorry to tell you that the game will no longer be accessible starting June 1, 2015 at 9:00am EST both online and through our iOS app,” reads the Chima Online website. “On this date, you will no longer be able to play the game or spend any remaining Gold Bricks. Please be aware that if you have any remaining Gold Bricks, you must use them before the game goes offline on June 1, 2015 at 9:00am EST. We hope you had a great time exploring the world of CHIMA Online. Thank you, The Game Team.”
Seeing as the whole Legends of Chima theme is on its way out, it’s no great surprise to see Chima Online reach the end of its life, too — despite only being released back in mid-to-late 2013. The game had its last overhaul in summer 2014, when a new section called The Outlands was released.
If you’ve never played it, check out the launch trailer below to see what the fuss was all about.
Or, better yet, take the next month-and-a-half to give the game a go!
