Feast your eyes on this gorgeous 1969 Chevrolet Corvette, the latest Lego Ideas project to rack up an impressive 10,000 supporters.
“Ever since I can remember I’ve always wanted a ’69 ‘Vette,” says creator Brickdater. “So I built one.”
Boy, did he!
“The Corvette was truly the first American sports car,” Brickdater continues. “The 1969 C3, with it’s [Coke] bottle curves and standout performance, was an icon of its era and is highly sought after today. It’s immediately recognizable body shape is what drew me to try and create it in Lego form, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
The project is the 11th to reach the First 2015 Review Stage, after which Lego has the option of turning it into a honest-to-goodness official Lego set for sale in stores.
Other projects to reach this stage in 2015 include (but aren’t limited to) Elsa’s Ice Palace from Frozen, the International Space Station, the RMS Titanic, a personal favorite of mine in the form of The Legend of Zelda: King of Red Lions Play Set and, of course, the Golden Girls set, whose creator spoke with Power of the Brick last week.
